VV Vinayak has always shared a cordial relation with Megastar Chiranjeevi. The duo worked together for a sensational project TAGORE which was a huge success at the box office. The movie brought in a lot of fame to VV Vinayak who was a budding director then.
​It is known that ​Chiranjeevi’s comeback film ​has been in discussion for quite sometime. ​Two star directors VV Vinayak and Puri Jagannadh were in consideration for this film. The chance finally went into Puri’s kitty and Auto Johnny was announced as Chiranjeevi’s 150th project.
​Though the movie was announced,​ it was shelved as Megastar wasn’t pleased with the second half of the script. ​Chiranjeevi shared the news with the media in an interview. However, this incident was not well received by the movie’s director Puri.
In a recent interaction with the media, Puri Jagannadh stated that Chiru never told him that he didn’t like the movie’s second half​. ​With this statement, the bond between Megastar and Puri seems to have weakened.
Now the chances of V.V.Vinayak directing Chiranjeevi’s film are high.
